Fairy Garden Plants

These miniature plants are all varieties that are suitable for use in smaller containers for fairy gardens. When choosing miniature plants for a small-scale garden let your imagination run free. Contrary to conventional wisdom, some miniature plants can successfully be left in their plastic pot and planted right into the planter/garden. That way the growth is somewhat restricted. They will be root bound by the end of the season but will retain their size much better for one season than if they are planted directly in the soil. Just pay a little more attention to the watering! This method works very well for plants like fairy vine, sedum, topiaries or small woody evergreens, but not for ground cover plants you want to spread.
