More About Herbs
Each year the popularity of herbs increases and each year we try and grow all of the old favorites as well as some different varieties.
Fresh herbs are fun to grow and even more enjoyable to use. There is nothing like fresh Basil with a home grown tomato or Mint used in your ice tea. Most herbs require full sun, well drained and average soil. You can grow herbs in pots on your windowsill, in flavorful combinations in a strawberry jar or other containers, in a garden just for them or mixed with annuals, perennials and shrubs in other garden beds to ‘spice’ things up. Some herbs are perennial, so they’ll return each year, but some of the most popular such as Basil, Rosemary and Sage are not hardy in our zone, so count on planting them every year. Here is a list of some of the many herbs we grow.
- Basils
- Chives
- Cilantro
- Dill
- Garlic
- Marjoram
- Mint
- Oregano
- Parsley
- Rosemary
- Sage
- Stevia
- Tarragon
- Thyme
